Have you ever struggled to see God’s consistent good news throughout the Bible? Would you like to understand and explain the Scriptures by a few simple themes? I think I can help you with that.
The introductory video below outlines seven evidences that point to 8 themes of the Gospel that run from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. Why is this important? Because God’s Word is the owner’s manual for Life. His Scriptures tell us the purpose of marriage and family, how even unimpressive jobs can receive His great blessings, why we often make foolish decisions, how we can rest and be changed in Christ, what He will bless – even by our small faith in Christ, and so much more. When we see His few basic and consistent themes we have more confidence and peace in His priorities, more clarity for our decision-making, more freedom to say “no” to some things so we can say “yes” to others. We have a simpler map to follow Him in joy.
God willing, after this introduction we will start with a more specific six-week introduction of these 8 themes in Jesus’ life, Jesus’ teaching, and a four-part look at the 8 themes in His followers’ lives and teaching in the book of Acts and the Epistles. Why such a long introduction? I want you to be confident in God’s Word, not in my interpretation of it.
Then we will explore weekly videos on specific aspects and applications of each theme: how we can be sure that they’re truly Scriptural, ways they apply to Christian leadership (equipping & encouraging others to follow Him) and Christian ‘counseling’ (helping the stuck or wayward to get back on track), honest video conversations with my wife on each of the 8 themes, and more. Some of the videos will be brief, using practical pictures to illustrate each theme. Others studies will be longer with scholarly detail. But each of them will be practical to encourage your faith in Jesus.
Join me as we journey and learn the simplicity of following Christ for greater joy in Him.

The first describes a simple three-step inductive approach to books of the Bible. The second uses an acronym to guide you in considering twelve points for a deeper study of Scripture. We will use these models to study whole books of the Bible. In order to keep the series shorter, we will only be studying books with six chapters or less. The series on Philippians is complete. God willing, I will post the series on Lamentations in a few weeks.
