The last post in this series, “Theology Thursdays”, introduced how to see God’s consistent good news throughout the Bible in 8 “P”s of the Gospel.  If you haven’t seen Seeing the Consistent Gospel of Christ in 8 “P”s from Genesis to Revelation, you may want to watch that first for the overview.

This week, we continue by seeing them as ever-present realities of Jesus’ life and ministry.  Why is this important?  Obviously, the Lord lived in some ways that only He could.  But the basic principles of how He lived here on earth are models of how we are to follow Him.  We can’t go well if we don’t know well.

Again, God’s Word is the owner’s manual for Life, and Jesus lived as the Word.  If we want to know how to live, we just need to watch Him.  Like an wise apprentice watching their master, when we walk in the Master’s steps we will experientially learn the goodness of His ways; we will grow in our skills to love as He loves; we will have more confidence to help others follow Him; we will have clearer vision of the Lord working in us and through us; and we will have greater joy knowing that He is pleased with us as we do His will.

God willing, over the next 5 weeks we will look at these 8 “P”s in the Lord’s teaching,  and a 4-part series on the same in the lives and teaching of the Apostles.  Then we will begin looking at each theme from Genesis to Revelation and several applications for each.

Join me as we journey and learn the simplicity of following Christ for greater joy in Him.
